- A very small quantity or extent
- filamentous hairlike growth on a plant; "peach fuzz"
- Any of the fine threadlike strands growing from the skin of humans, mammals, and some other animals
- A similar strand growing from the epidermis of a plant, or forming part of a living cell

1950s three young men
Three teenagers running wild on holiday? The chap on the left has very wide collars suggesting possibly the late 1940s, but his hair is greased back in an immaculate 50s quiff. Since rationing extended into the 1950s in the UK, he might be wearing an old suit. I love this shot, it has such energy and exuberance. Found in Brighton, no other info.
Bombshellhairandink
My friend Cheri, owns a unique shop in downtown Benicia, California. Part hair salon, part tattoo parlor. The place has a WWII era feel to it and is loaded with "Pin-Up" style art.
1950s fashion hair
Whether you're a collector, fashion historian, costume designer, or dancer, you'll delight in this story of vintage clothing that swings to the beat of a blue note or eight-to-the-bar. Come on a pictorial tour of groovy threads from the 1930s through the 1950s. Jump into the mid-1930s, when swing was launched as a national dance fad, with jewel-tone satins and sunny printed cottons. Dozens of original color photos share top billing with hundreds of vintage ads and sketches. This lively book includes thumbnail bios of the musical artists who made it happen, from Basin Street to Harlem and Southside Chicago, plus a valuation guide, a resource directory, a glossary of music and fashion terms, and even tips on creating your own vintage look.
